Kalamazoo Tank and Silo Company was Kalamazoo, Michigan's oldest manufacturing firm. In 2004, the City of Kalamazoo bought the plant on Harrison Street and demolished it as part of an initiative to redevelop land surrounding the Kalamazoo River. The only structure left is a small silo on the eastern edge of the site.

Small archival repairs to several folds. 8.5" x 6" This folded broadsheet extolls the Star Safety Razor and Stropping Machine. Included are a full-page tribute by Oliver Wendell Holmes, and long paragraphs of promotional text translated into German, Spanish and French for the convenience of immigrants. [Company not in Romaine.] The Kampfe brothers immigrated to the United States early in the1870s and began manufacturing the Star safety razor in 1875. In May, 1880 Frederick and Otto applied for a patent on “new and useful Improvements in Safety-Razors,” apparently the first use of the term “safety razor."
