The Hooker 100-inch telescope on Mt. Wilson was the largest telescope in the world from 1917 to 1948 when the 200-inch telescope was built on Palomar Mountain 90 miles to the southeast. Soon after the Mt. Wilson Observatory opened, a brisk tourist trade developed. This brochure includes a timetable of daily trips up and down the mountain, and describes accommodations and meals at the Mount Wilson Hotel and Bungalows.
