Neilson (1850-1880)was born in Spain to English parents, and returned to England with her parents at a young age. She debuted on stage as Julia in "The Hunchback" in 1865, and starred as Juliet in "Romeo and Juliet" that same year. Neilson made her American debut in 1872, again as Juliet, at Booth's Theatre, and went on to other New York performances in the 1870s. She died at age 30, according to an obit in "The Illustrated London News."
