Lake Mills, Michigan: 1855. Original manuscript. One page, written in a legible hand; margin torn away below signature. Apparently written to her daughter (addressed as "Duck") who is visiting the Blackmar family. She is needed at home to work. "Bill agreed to send you down in the stage. We have just so much to do before we move. I want you and Mrs. Blackmar hired girl to go to the store and get 2 yards (of gingham). It was 11 cents a yard. I send postage stamps.
