South Reading, Vermont: 1841. Original manuscript. One page, quarto, pencil in a legible hand. Anna likes news from home. "You said while you was writing Mother was scraping guts and I filled my guts that night" [making sausages]. Indeed, she filled "8 of em, and I think they are superior to any I ever eat before." She inquires about Mary's poor health. Then, ".ask Sally if she sees any of those chaps in Mrs. Works sink that Richard saw there five years ago.
