In part: "...It was our intention.to visit you immediately on our arrival, but were prevented doing so by the sickness of ourselves and children. They suffer so much from the weather that we shall be obliged to sail on Saturday. I expect to be absent about twelve months, and on my return hope to spend some time in Bainbridge.," etc. This letter is accompanied by the original envelope, addressed: Miss Anna L.
