Born in Blue Lick, Kentucky, Foley began his career singing with the Cumberland Ridge Runners, went on to the Grand Ole Opry, formed his own Cumberland Valley Boys, recorded with the Andrews Sisters, &c., and is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame.
